ITINERARY:

Day 1 Friday, March 7 Guatemala City
Depart from Philadelphia airport to Atlanta at 6:10am with Delta Airlines. Check-in at the airport should be by 5:00am. Connecting flight for Guatemala City leaves Atlanta at
10:35am and arrives at 1:05pm. Upon arrival transfer by coach to your hotel and brief visit to San Carlos University. Overnight at San Carlos Hotel (or similar).

Day 2 Saturday, March 8, Guatemala City
Trip to Tikal. Leave early by plane for Tikal. Upon arrival in Flores, coach to Tikal and guided tour of the Mayan ruins. Lunch is included. Return to Guatemala City in the evening.

Day 3 Sunday, March 9, Santiago
Continuation by coach to Lake Atitlan. Brief group meeting on arrival. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and evening meeting with Community Service coordinators. Stay at the lovely Hotel Eco-Bambu for the next five nights.

Day 4 Monday, March 10, Santiago
Morning on-site orientation and beginning of Service Project. Early afternoon Group Meeting. Late afternoon and evening at leisure.

Day 5 Tuesday, March 11, Santiago
On-site Service Project in the morning. Afternoon optional guided walking tour of Santiago. Evening at leisure.

Day 6 Wednesday, March 12, Santiago
On-site Service Project in the morning. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 7 Thursday, March 13, Santiago
On-site Service Project in the morning. Optional hike to ancient Mayan archeological site in the afternoon. Evening group gathering.

Day 8 Friday, March 14, Antigua
At noon coach transfer to Antigua. Overnight at Hotel Aurora (or similar). Optional afternoon tour of Antigua. Evening at leisure.

Day 9 Saturday March 15, Antigua
All day at leisure in Antigua for sightseeing, shopping, or optional day trip to volcano.

Day 10 Sunday March 16, Return
Transfer to Guatemala City airport. Delta Airlines flight returning to Philadelphia through Atlanta. Departure from Guatemala City is at 2:20pm. Expected time of arrival in Philadelphia is 12:42am (March 17).

THE PRICE INCLUDES:

  • Delta Airlines flights from Philadelphia to Guatemala City via Atlanta
  • Airport taxes @ approximately $ 100.00
  • “Q” tax representing the fuel surcharge @ $ 130.00 as per airline quote of Oct.ober 2005, subject to adjustment at time of ticketing.
  • Hotel accommodation based on double occupancy:
    2 nights in Guatemala City
    5 nights in Santiago at Hotel Eco-Bambu, with meals
    2 nights in Antigua
  • Breakfast daily + lunch & dinner at Eco-Bambu
  • Excursions and sightseeing as per itinerary
  • Transportation by motor coach for all transfers
  • Supervision by Penn State faculty members.

THE PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE:

  • Tikal excursion by air + $ 350.00 including round trip airfare, transfers, lunch, guided tour.
  • Single room supplement for 9 nights + $ 325.00 (On request only, it may not be available)
  • Local and International departure taxes of approximately $ 10.00
  • Tips for drivers and tour guides.
  • Meals other than those specified.
  • Cost of personal items: phone, drinks, etc.
  • Required Penn State Health insurance or visitor’s fee if you are not a Penn State student.
  • Optional travel insurance covering trip cancellation in case of medical reasons.
  • Passport & visa fee. Everyone needs a passport valid until Sept. 16, 2008. If you are not an American citizen, a visa may be required, and a green card is compulsory.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Celestial Voyagers’ terms depend on contracts with Delta Airlines, hotels and other Suppliers. Regulations below must be strictly enforced as they are related to these contracts.

Deposit: $150.00 (non -refundable) due prior to November 2nd, 2007
Final payment is due December 6, 2007 at latest.
Late fee: $100 or more, applicable for registration and/or balance payments received December 6, 2007 or later.

Cancellations:
All cancellations must be received in writing.

Following penalties will apply: for cancellations:

  • $150.00 non refundable processing fee
  • 50% of total price for cancellations Dec. 15 - Feb. 2, 2008
  • 100% of total price for cancellations on Feb. 2nd, or later.

All cancellations must be sent in writing. We strongly recommend that you avail yourself of travel insurance as a protection against these penalties. Please, check with Celestial Voyagers for travel insurance plans and premiums.
