ITINERARY

Day 1 Monday, May 12 DEPART
Depart from Philadelphia airport to Paris. Overnight flight with Air France.

Day 2 Tuesday, May 13 PARIS
On arrival, transfer to your hotel, the Ibis Bastille Opera located in the 11th district, at the metro station, Bastille, or Breguet-Sabin. Remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 3 Wednesday, May 14 PARIS
The Louvre Museum opens till 10:00pm on Wednesday nights. The Musée d’Orsay opens at 9:30am. Be early to avoid the lines.

Day 4 Thursday, May 15 PARIS
Among many areas you may want to see today “Le Marais”,“Place des Vosges”, the Ile Saint Louis and Ile de La Cité”, Notre Dame. Walk around the Latin Quarter where students and intellectuals meet in the Cafés of Saint Michel, Saint Germain or Montparnasse.

Day 5 Friday, May 16 PARIS
You can stay in Paris or join an optional tour to the Loire Valley and the Chateaux Country. This tour leaves at 7:30am and returns at 7:30pm. It includes a photo stop at Chambord, the visit of Chenonceau and a stop in the small town of Amboise.

Day 6 Saturday, May 17 PARIS
There is much more to see in Paris: the Champs Elysées, the Eiffel Tower, the
Sacré Coeur at Montmartre.

Day 7 Sunday, May 18 PARIS
Enjoy a day in Versailles; see the Palace of Louis XIV, the gardens, The Grand
and the Petit Trianon as well as the Hamlet of Marie Antoinette. Travel by train from the Gare St Michel with the R.E.R. Rive Gauche, enjoy the water fountain show from 3:30 to 5:30pm.

Day 8 Monday, May 19 PARIS
Transfer to the Charles de Gaulle airport for your return flight to the US.

PRICE STARTS AT $1295.00, WHICH INCLUDES:

  • Round trip flights out of Philadelphia, non-stop to Paris Charles de Gaulle.
  • “Q” taxes for fuel surcharge @ $ 170.00, subject to adjustment in case of increase.
  • Airport taxes @ approximately $ 105.00, subject to adjustment at time of ticketing.
  • 6 nights hotel accommodation, double occupancy at Hotel Ibis Bastille Opera.
  • Cold buffet breakfast daily.
  • Transport to/from CDG airport and hotel
  • Supervision by Penn State faculty members.

THE PRICE OR $1295.00 DOESN’T INCLUDE:

  • Single room supplement + $ 415.00
  • Full day excursion to Loire Valley + $ 95.00 (minimum 15 participants)
  • Public transportation: local trains and buses
  • Compulsory Penn State insurance: $ 16 if you are under 26 or $ 24 if you are 26 or older
  • Visitor’s fee of $ 74.00 includes registration as a Continuing Education student and Penn State insurance; $ 50.00 of which is used to provide a special grant to selected students.
  • All meals, except breakfast
  • Cost of personal items: phone, drinks, etc.
  • Optional travel insurance covering trip cancellation in case of medical emergency.
  • 3.5 percent merchant account fees on all amounts paid by Visa, Master Card or American Express credit card.
  • Passport & visa fee. Everyone needs a passport valid until November 19, 2008. In case you are not an American citizen, a visa may be required. Do not forget your green card to return to the U.S.!

Celestial Voyagers in Paris

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

At Celestial Voyagers, our terms are based on contracts with airlines, hotels and other suppliers. The terms and stipulations mentioned below are related to these contracts and will be strictly enforced.

Deposit: $ 300.00 before February 7, 2008
of which $150.00 processing fee is non refundable.

Final payment is due March 21, 2008

Late fee: $ 100 minimum, applicable for trip registration and/or balance payments received after March 21, 2008.

Cancellation penalties:

All cancellations must be received in writing.

  • $150.00 non refundable processing fee
  • Additional $150.00 for cancellations between February 8 and March 21, 2008
  • 50% of total price for cancellations between March 22 and April 8, 2008
  • 100% of total price for cancellations on April 9, 08 or later.

We strongly recommend that you avail yourself of travel insurance as a protection against these penalties. Please, check with Celestial Voyagers for travel insurance plans and premiums.

Course registration is separate.

Make sure that the registration is complete, indicating all the services you wish to book, all information re Penn State insurance and / or visitor’s fee if applicable, plus any information regarding your choice of roommate.

Penn State Student Insurance
$ 16.00 if you are under 26
$ 24.00 if you are 26 or over.
We must receive the proper insurance information to process the insurance fee to Penn State University.

You will receive an electronic insurance form, which must be filled out, signed and returned to the University. Unless this form is completed, students will not be allowed to travel.

Visitor’s fee @ $74.00
This applies to all passengers who do not have a Penn State ID. It comprises a registration fee as a Continuing Education student plus Penn State compulsory health insurance. Besides the insurance premium, it is used to provide special grants to selected students.

DELIVERY OF AIRLINE TICKETS & TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

Travel documents will be delivered in room 112 of the Vairo Building, Penn State, Delaware County Campus, on Friday, April 25 at 12:30pm. It is most important to attend this meeting or send a substitute. If this is not possible your professor(s) and Celestial Voyagers MUST be notified. If your documents have to be sent t individually, you must submit your request with your address in writing; a $15.00 mailing fee will apply.

ACADEMIC ARANGEMENTS & RULES OF CONDUCT
All academic arrangements must be made with PSU Delaware County and indicate your agreement to abide by Penn State’s stipulated rules of conduct.
