Itinerary

Day 1 Saturday, November 23 Departure

Depart from Newark airport on TAP Air Portugal. Check-in at the airport 3 hours prior to departure. A shuttle will be arranged from Brandywine Campus to go to Newark Airport. (additional price to be advised depending on size of the group)

Day 2 Sunday, November 24, Barcelona

Connection in Lisbon for Barcelona. Coach transfer on arrival to go to Hotel Rialto conveniently located in the heart of Barcelona. Start exploring the city in the afternoon: the Cathedral, the Ramblas and the narrow streets of the Old city.

Day 3, Monday, November 25, Barcelona

Visit Barcelona on your own in relation to the course work required by your professor. Academic assistance provided daily.
Day 4 Tuesday, November 26, Barcelona

Visit Barcelona on your own in relation to the course work required by your professor. Academic assistance provided daily. Optional Gaudi tour: the Sagrada Familia, Parque Guell and La Pedrera. ( a minimum of 10 participants is required to operate this tour).

Day 5 Wednesday, November 27, Barcelona

Visit Barcelona on your own in relation to the course work required by your professor. Academic assistance provided daily. Optional tour to Montserrat. Free registration, but you need to register. Assistance to go to the station to buy your ticket for the train and the funicular which will take you to the Monastery (Train and entrance fees will cost you around $30)

Day 6 Thursday November 28, Barcelona

Visit Barcelona on your own in relation to the course work required by your professor. Academic assistance provided daily.
Day 7 Friday, November 29 Barcelona

Visit Barcelona on your own in relation to the course work required by your professor. Academic assistance provided daily. Optional full day tour to Figueras to visit Salvador Dali Museum with a stop in Girona.

Day 8 Saturday, November 30 Return

Early morning transfer to the airport for flight back to Newark, via Lisbon. Optional return transfer if you booked it for departure.

  • Taxes and fuel surcharges at $646.00 subject to adjustment at time of ticketing 7 nights accommodation at Hotel Rialto, (or similar) - double occupancy.
  • Hot buffet breakfast daily Airport/hotel/airport transfers in Barcelona
  • Supervision by Penn State faculty members.

  • Single room supplement + $ 330.00

  • Gaudi in Barcelona: Sagrada Familia, Parque Guell and La Pedrera + $95.00 includes entrance fees & elevator (min. 10)
  • Gerona & Figueras with Salvador Dali Museum + $125.00 (min. 20)

  • HTH travel and health insurance required by Penn State
  • Passport and visa fees. Everyone needs a passport valid until June 1, 2014. If you are not an American citizen, a visa may be required. A Green Card or equivalent is compulsory.

Due to new security procedures, full passport information has to be available to issue airline tickets. Delays may create penalties and/or cancellations.

Terms & Conditions


Celestial Voyagers’ terms relate to contracts with airlines, hotels and other suppliers. The regulations below must be strictly enforced as they are related to these contracts.


Deposit $500.00 due upon registration


Balance due no later than September 30, 2013


Space may still be available after September 30, nevertheless, after this date airfare may increase. Air fare adjustment and/or additional $100.00 late fee may apply.


All check payments to be made out to Celestial Voyagers escrow account. Your deposit secures your reservation with the airline, the hotel and other suppliers. It must be sent with a copy of your passport and the registration form.

Cancellation:
All cancellations must be received in writing. The following penalties apply:

$150.00 non refundable processing fee.
50% of total trip cost for cancellations received between September 20 and October 1, 2013
100% of total trip cost for cancellations received on or after October 2 or in case of no-show.

These policies will be strictly applied.

Travel Insurance


All travelers on Penn State programs are required to purchase travel insurance through HTH Worldwide. Students will be sent enrollment information 2 weeks prior to departure. Non-students must purchase TravelGap or TripProtector from http://www.hthtravelinsurance.com.

Travel Documents


Travel documents will be distributed at Penn State Brandywine, on Thursday, November 7 at 12:30 PM. It is most important to attend this meeting or send a substitute. If this is not possible, your professor(s) and Celestial Voyagers MUST be notified.

If your documents have to be sent directly to you, you must submit your request for this service in writing and supply your address. Somebody will need to be home to sign for the package and a $20.00 administration, handling and mailing fee applies.
