ITINERARY

Day 1 Friday, May 15      DEPARTURE
Departure from Kennedy airport at 4:30pm for your flight to Athens. Please arrive at the airport at least 3 hours early.

Day 2 Saturday, May 16      ATHENS
Arrive in Athens at 9:10am. Transfer will be provided to the city center. Visit the Cycladic Museum. Overnight stay in Athens.

Day 3 Sunday, May 17     ATHENS
In the morning there will be a half day Athens city tour, including a visit to the Acropolis. Afternoon visit to the National Archaeological Museum. Overnight stay in Athens.

Day 4 Monday, May 18      TOLON
Depart Athens and drive to Corinth Canal for a short stop before continuing to Epidaurus and Mycenae. Drive to nauplia for a short stop and continue to Tolon. Swimming is permitted in Tolon. Overnight stay in Tolon.

Day 5 Tuesday, May 19     OLYMPIA
Depart Tolon and drive to Olympia via Tripolis and Megaloupolis. Sightseeing in Olympia. Overnight in Olympia.

Day 6 Wednesday, May 20     DELPHI
Drive to Delphi via patras and Rio-Antirio. Sightseeing in Delphi. Overnight in Delphi.

Day 7 Thursday, May 21     ATHENS
Further sightseeing in Delphi. Return to Athens. Farewell dinner at a taverna in the Paka area.

Day 8 Friday, May 22     RETURN
Transfer to Athens airport. Check-in for your return flight to Kennedy departing at 11:25am.

REGISTRATION

Eligibility

This program is open to St. Joseph’s College students enrolled in either Dr. Wendy Turgeon’s Cla/Phi 154: Sources of Great Western Ideas or Dr. James Blakeley’s Cla/His 122: The Glory that was Greece; the Grandeur that was Rome.

SJC students not enrolled in either of the above courses may participate with the professor’s approval. No prior foreign language requirement needed. All students are required to have a valid passport and provide proof of medical insurance. Program Description
The Experience of a Lifetime

The Greece Study Program offers students the opportunity to travel to Greece as a component of their on-campus course. It will also allow students to further their education through exposure to the history, art and cultures of Greece.

Program Costs

The price for this program is $2,600.00. Price is based on a minimum of 15 participants. Students are expected to purchase an International Student ID Card. Any student that does not purchase the ISIC will have $50.00 added onto the program cost. This card must be shown at the entrance of each visited site. A supplement will be charged in Greece if you do not carry the card with you to show at the entrance of each site.

Registration Deadlines

The application and a non-refundable deposit of $200.00 are due by February 5, 2009.

The remaining balance of $2,400.00 is due no later than March 2, 2009.
Checks must be payable to “St. Joseph’s College”.

In order to guarantee your spot, enrollment in the program, and airline reservations, these deadlines must be met; there will be no exceptions. Space is limited so reserve your spot today.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that you avail yourself of travel insurance as protection against penalties as well as baggage damage and travel delays. Without insurance, if you cancel your trip within a few days of the departure date, the total value of the trip will not be refunded. Pre-existing medical conditions are covered only if the insurance registration has been submitted within 14 days of sending your deposit.
