ITINERARY

DAY 1TUESDAY, DEC 29DEPARTURE

Depart from Philadelphia airport to Prague via Frankfurt with Lufthansa. Check-in at the airport should be 3 hours prior to departure.

DAY 2WEDNESDAY, DEC 30PRAGUE

Transfer in Frankfurt for your connecting flight to Prague. Assistance on arrival and transfer to Hotel Majestic Plaza, a 4 Star Best Western Premier located in the center of town, just a few steps away from Wenceslas Square.

DAY 3THURSDAY, DEC 31PRAGUE

Enjoy the sights of Prague: the Old Town, the Castle area with St. Vitus Cathedral, the old Royal Palace, Golden Lane and Daliborka. Daily walking tours depart from the foot of the statue of Wenceslas on his horse and are reasonably priced. Optional 6 hour guided walking tour with entrance fees is approximately $50.00. Check the Internet for New Year's Eve possibilities and enjoy the celebration with fireworks and the local crowd. Prague is known as one of the top European cities to celebrate New Year.

DAY 4FRIDAY, JAN 1PRAGUE

Visit all the sights related to your course: Prague Castle, Petrin Hill, Charles Bridge and the Jewish quarter.

DAY 5SATURDAY, JAN 2VIENNA

Morning drive to Vienna by motorcoach. Check-in at Hotel Mercure Westbahnhof, a 3 Star hotel close to Mariahilferstrasse, surrounded by plenty of shops, restaurants and Viennese cafes. Main attractions can be reached on foot or by subway. Optional evening in Grinzig winery village with an orientation tour of Vienna by night before an enjoyable dinner with music.

DAY 6SUNDAY, JAN 3VIENNA

Visit all the sights related to your studies. The Hofburg Palace, St. Stephen's Cathedral, Mozart House, the Kunsthistorische Museum, Belvedere Palace or the Opera House.

DAY 7MONDAY, JAN 4VIENNA

Today you can visit Schonbrunn Palace, the summer residence of the Habsburgs.

DAY 8TUESDAY, JAN 5RETURN

Transfer to airport for your return flight to Philadelphia via Frankfurt.

This price includes:

  • Round trip flights from Philadelphia with Lufthansa via Frankfurt.
  • Airfare, taxes and surcharges at approximately $380.00 (subject to adjustment at time of ticketing)
  • 6 nights at centrally located 4 and 3 Star hotels (double occupancy)
  • Hot buffet breakfast daily
  • Transfers airport/hotel/airport in Prague and Vienna
  • Transfer by motorcoach between Prague and Vienna.
  • Supervision by Penn State faculty members

This price does not include:

  • Single room supplement of $595.00

Everyone needs a passport valid until July 5, 2010. If you are not an American citizen, a visa may be required. A Green Card or equivalent is compulsory.

COURSE REGISTRATION

Credit Courses:
A number of Penn State 3-credit courses, not requiring regular attendance at Brandywine campus, are offered in combination with all Brandywine International Studies trips. Approved full time students at all Penn State Campuses are eligible to take two courses (6 credits) at no additional cost. To establish eligibility at any Penn State campus, the student should obtain his/her adviser's permission to register then receive the confirmation of approval from the Brandywine DAA and from the teacher of the course. The courses may also be taken by non-Penn State students for transfer-credit, but in those cases the applicable tuition fee will apply.

Trip Registration versus Course Registration:
All travel arrangements are made through Celestial Voyagers, a fully insured tour operator. Do not contact Penn State professors or employees regarding flights, hotels or travel information. They may not have the very latest information.

PAYMENT (TERMS & CONDITIONS)

Deposit: $300.00 by check only due before September 26, 2009.

Final payment is due no later than October 29, 2009

For registration after September 27, full payment is needed.

Airline seats may be available until November 29. However, after October 29, airfare may increase and an additional $100.00 late fee will apply.

All check payments to be made out to Celestial Voyagers escrow account. Your deposit secures your reservation with the airline, the hotel and other suppliers. It must be sent with a copy of your passport and the registration form.

Credit card payments:
We accept Visa and MasterCard. Since Merchant fees are not included in the package price, a 3.5% supplement applies if you wish to pay by credit card.

Cancellation:
All cancellations must be received in writing. The following penalties will apply:

  • $150.00 processing fee upon receipt of a written cancellation.
  • Penalty of 50% of the cost of the trip if written cancellation is received between October 30 and November 28, 2009.
  • Penalty of 100% of the cost of the trip if written cancellation is received on or after November 29, 2009 and in case of a no-show.

These policies will be strictly applied.
We strongly recommend that you avail yourself of travel insurance as protection against these penalties. Please check with HTH Travel Insurance for plans and premiums.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

All travelers on Penn State programs are required to purchase travel insurance through HTH Worldwide. Students will be sent enrollment information 2 weeks prior to departure. Non-students must purchase TravelGap or TripProtector from http://www.hthtravelinsurance.com.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

Travel documents will be delivered at Penn State, Brandywine Campus, on Dec. 4, 2009 at 12:00 PM. It is most important to attend this meeting or send a substitute. If this is not possible, your professor(s) and Celestial Voyagers MUST be notified.

If your documents have to be sent individually, you must submit your request for this service in writing and supply your address. Somebody will need to be home to sign to receive the package and a $20.00 administration, handling and mailing fee applies.
