ITINERARY

DAY 1SATURDAY, MARCH 6DEPARTURE

Depart from Newark airport to Dublin with Continental Airlines. Check in at the airport should be 3 hours prior to departure.

DAY 2SUNDAY, MARCH 7DUBLIN

Assistance upon arrival and transfer to the North Star, a 3-star hotel located in the heart of Dublin, a short walking distance from O'Connell street, Trinity College and Temple Bar. Leave your luggage in storage and start visiting all the sights related to your course work: The Old City, The Georgian District, the medieval Cathedrals and enjoy 2000 years of history. Do not forget Trinity College and the unique "Book of Kells".

DAY 3MONDAY, MARCH 8DUBLIN

Morning departure by coach for a full day excursion to Northern Ireland. Guided city tour of Belfast upon arrival.

DAY 4TUESDAY, MARCH 9DUBLIN

Day in Dublin. A literary day tour of Dublin is of great interest to everyone. You can visit the Dublin Writer Museum and the James Joyce Cultural Centre (closed on Mondays).

DAY 5WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10DUBLIN

Day in Dublin to get a real feel for the Irish lifestyle. You may also want to go and visit the Guinness Store House.

DAY 6THURSDAY, MARCH 11DUBLIN

Optional excursion to Newgrange, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The megalithic Passage Tomb dates back to 3200 B.C. and the passage and chamber are illuminated only by the winter solstice sunrise.

DAY 7FRIDAY, MARCH 12DUBLIN

Last day in Dublin. You may want to visit Dublin Castle, Malahide Castle.

DAY 8SATURDAY, MARCH 13RETURN

Transfer to Dublin airport for your return flight home.

  • Airfare, taxes and surcharges @ $110.00 (subject to adjustment at time of ticketing)
  • 6 nights accommodation as listed in itinerary (double occupancy)

This price does not include:

  • Single room supplement + $265.00

  • Merchant fee of 3.5% on any amount paid by VISA or MasterCard.

COURSE REGISTRATION

Credit Courses:
A number of Penn State 3-credit courses, not requiring regular attendance at Brandywine campus, are offered in combination with all Brandywine International Studies trips. Approved full time students at all Penn State Campuses are eligible to take two courses (6 credits) at no additional cost. To establish eligibility at any Penn State campus, the student should obtain his/her adviser's permission to register then receive the confirmation of approval from the Brandywine DAA and from the teacher of the course. The courses may also be taken by non-Penn State students for transfer-credit, but in those cases the applicable tuition fee will apply.

Trip Registration versus Course Registration:
All travel arrangements are made through Celestial Voyagers, a fully insured tour operator. Do not contact Penn State professors or employees regarding flights, hotels or travel information. They may not have the very latest information.

PAYMENT (TERMS & CONDITIONS)

Deposit: $300.00 by check only due upon registration and before December 4, 2009.

Balance due no later than January 4, 2010

After December 4, 2009 full payment is due with registration.

Space may be available until February 11, 2010. Nevertheless, after January 4, 2010 airfare may increase and an additional $100.00 late fee will apply.

All check payments to be made out to Celestial Voyagers escrow account. Your deposit secures your reservation with the airline, the hotel and other suppliers. It must be sent with a copy of your passport and the registration form.

Credit card payments:
We accept Visa and MasterCard. Since Merchant fees are not included in the package price, a 3.5% supplement applies if you wish to pay by credit card.

Cancellation:
All cancellations must be received in writing. The following penalties will apply:

  • $150.00 processing fee upon receipt of a written cancellation.
  • Penalty of 50% of the cost of the trip if written cancellation is received between January 4 and February 4, 2010.
  • Penalty of 100% of the cost of the trip if written cancellation is received after February 5, 2010 and in case of a no-show.

These policies will be strictly applied.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

All travelers on Penn State programs are required to purchase travel insurance through HTH Worldwide. Students will be sent enrollment information 2 weeks prior to departure. Non-students must purchase TravelGap or TripProtector from http://www.hthtravelinsurance.com.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

Travel documents will be delivered at Penn State, Brandywine Campus, on Friday, February 18, 2010 at 12:00pm. It is most important to attend this meeting or send a substitute. If this is not possible, your professor(s) and Celestial Voyagers MUST be notified.

If your documents have to be sent individually, you must submit your request for this service in writing and supply your address. Somebody will need to be home to sign to receive the package and a $20.00 administration, handling and mailing fee applies.
