ITINERARY

DAY 1 SUNDAY MAY 16 DEPARTURE
Depart from Washington Dulles International Airport to Paris. AF#39 leaves Dulles at 4:40 p.m. Overnight flight with Air France.
DAY 2 MONDAY MAY 17 MARSEILLES
Arrival CDG Airport 6:10 a.m. Flight AF#7662 leaves at 10:25 a.m. and arrives Marseille Provence 4 at 11:50 a.m. Assistance and transfer to Arles, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Check-in at hotel. Afternoon walking tour : arena, antique theatre, St. Trophime Church and Van Gogh Space.
DAY 3 TUESDAY MAY 18 ARLES
Full-day excursion to Avignon and Pont du Gard. Guided tour of Avignon: the Pope Palace, the Pont Benazet , the old town followed by a visit to the 2,000-year-old Roman bridge and a wine tasting to appreciate local wines such as Cotes du Rhone and Chauteauneuf du Pape.
DAY 4 WEDNESDAY MAY 19 ARLES
Full-day excursion to Nimes: the Arena, the Tour de Magne, the Maison Carree and the Saintes Maries de la Mer. Drive through the wild Camargue region and discover its unique flora and fauna.
DAY 5 THURSDAY MAY 20 ARLES
Full-day excursion to Aix en Provence: city tour,  Cezanne studio, and Cezanne Road towards the Montagne Sainte Victoire which inspired Cezanne in so many paintings.
DAY 6 FRIDAY MAY 21 ARLES
Full-day excursion to Marseille. Morning city tour, followed by lunch near the old harbor and an afternoon boat ride in the Calanques.
DAY 7 SATURDAY MAY 22 ARLES
Full-day at leisure. Saturday is market day in Arles - enjoy a typical local market. You will also have time to discover (on your own) the great museums of Arles: the Museum of Ancient Arles, the Folk Art Museum Arlaten, or the Reattu Museum with its Picasso collection.
DAY 8 SUNDAY MAY 23 ARLES
Full-day excursion: Les Baux /  Gordes / le Luberon and Les Ocres de Roussillon.
DAY 9 MONDAY MAY 24 RETURN
Transfer from Arles to Marseille Provence airport for your Air France flight to return to Washington Dulles, via Paris CDG.

*   Round-trip flights from Washington Dulles Airport to Marseille, via Paris, with Air France
*   Air taxes and surcharges at $426 subject to adjustment at time of ticketing
*   Seven nights accommodation in double or triple room at three star New Hotel Arles Camargue

*   Passport and visa:   Everyone needs a passport valid until November 24, 2010. If you are not an American citizen, a visa may be required. A Green Card is compulsory.

You can mail your reservation  form along with your payment with a copy of your passport, if available.

If you will not be a student at the time of this trip or a Penn State employee, you must enroll in the following Continuing education course before registering for this trip. Registration forms for this Continuing education course, FR 5016A  Schedule Number 507878, can be obtained in the office of Academic Affairs, Room 121 Main Classroom Building or by contacting Jane Pflaum at 717-771-4051.

This course will meet Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The fee to register for this course is $30. The deadline for registration is March 19, 2010. All participants must be 18 years of age at the time of the trip.

 

PAYMENT (TERMS & CONDITIONS)

Celestial Voyagers’ terms and conditions relate to contracts with airlines, hotels and other suppliers. The regulations below will therefore be strictly enforced.


Deposit $500 due upon registration and before February 12, 2010


Balance due no later than March 15, 2010


After February 12 full payment is due with registration


Space may be available after these deadlines. Nevertheless, after February 12 airfare may increase and
an additional $100.00 late fee will apply.


All check payments to be made out to Celestial Voyagers escrow account. Your deposit secures your
reservation with the airline, the hotel and other suppliers. It must be sent with a copy of your passport
and the registration form.


Credit card payments:
We accept Visa and MasterCard. Since merchant fees are not included in the package price, should you wish to pay by this method, a supplement of 3.5 percent applies.


Cancellation:
All cancellations must be received in writing. The following penalties apply:


* $150 nonrefundable processing fee
* Penalty of 50 percent of the total trip price if cancellation is received betweenMarch 16 and April 12, 2010
* Penalty of 100 percent of the total trip price if cancellation is received on or after April 12, 2010 and in case of a no-show.


These policies will be strictly applied.

We strongly recommend that you avail yourself of travel insurance as protection against these penalties. Please check with HTH Travel Insurance for plans and premiums.


 

TRAVEL INSURANCE

All travelers on Penn State programs are required to purchase travel insurance through HTH Worldwide. Students will be sent enrollment information 2 weeks prior to departure. Non-students must purchase TravelGap or TripProtector from http://www.hthtravelinsurance.com.

Travel documents will be delivered at Penn State, York by Miss Flinchbaugh. If you cannot meet
with Miss Flinchbaugh, please advise her as well as Celestial Voyagers.


If your documents have to be sent directly to you, you must submit your request for this service in
writing and supply your address. Somebody will need to be home to sign for the package and a $20.00
administration, handling and mailing fee applies.
