Bhutan
Trips to Bhutan must be prepared long in advance by specialists to secure the best possible experience.
Arrivals by air are limited to 2 airlines. Only DRUK AIR and BHUTAN AIRLINES fly to Paro, the Capital. You can fly mostly from either Bangkok, Thailand, Delhi or Kolcotta, India, and Kathmandu, Nepal. You will land into Paro International airport after one of the most breathtaking flights over the Himalayas Mountains. Due to weather conditions and no landing at night in Paro being allowed you may have delays for which it would be better to plan ample connecting time.
A visa is compulsory and will be available as you arrive. It must be requested well in advance through Celestial Voyagers. You will receive the visa approval before departure. All visas must be approved from Thimphu and will be submitted by Celestial Voyagers and a local licensed agent.
A minimum daily tariff of expenses is fixed by the Tourist Council of Bhutan. It is non-negotiable and it covers all accommodation, meals, transportation, guide services, baggage handling, cultural programs, festival events if available, etc…. As of 2019, the minimum daily expense is fixed at $250 a day. Of course, you can spend more and you will if you prefer luxury hotels and services,
All itineraries are prepared by the Bhutanese Tourist Authority. While we can submit all requests, specific visits and properties the confirmations are finalized without much flexibility.
