All students of Albizu University’s Miami campus are invited to participate in this Study Abroad opportunity. Requirements:
Students interested in participating in this Study Abroad program must enroll in at least one course for the Summer 2020 semester. Students must contact a professor programmed to teach in the Summer 2020, to ascertain the professor will accept that 20% of her or his grade will come from a cultural, academic, and clinical/research immersion experience. Students in this Study Abroad course will complete three presentations (before/during/after travel) and will write a brief paper about their cultural, academic, and clinical/research experiences. The traveling professors will provide a grade for the Study Abroad course to the Miami professor. Additional information appears on a document named “Academic Requirements,” available by email, at Albizu’s website, and displayed at academic and student service departments.
Non stop flight to Madrid with connection to Granada.
Iberia flight IB#6124 leaves Miami at 5:10 PM.
Arrival Madrid at 7:45 AM. Connecting flight IB # 8930 leaves Madrid at 9:00 AM and arrives Granada at 10:05 AM.
Assistance and transfer to your hotel. Check-in for 2 nights.
Receive your “whispers” that you will keep for 9 days (audio system used during guided tours, which is compulsory inside some monuments)
Remainder of the day to rest.
Welcome dinner at a local restaurant: 3 course dinner with mineral water and 1 glass of wine per person.
Morning guided tour of Granada with electronic time tickets to visit the Alhambra Palace and the Generalife Gardens. Afterwards, you will have a walking tour of the Albaicin quarter for a panoramic view of the Alhambra Hill.
9:00 AM departure by coach after breakfast to go to Cordoba, via Jaen.
Visit Jaen, a sleepy small town known for its olive oil production and for the marvels of its architecture. Guided city tour includes the Renaissance Cathedral and the medieval Castle of Santa Catalina perched on top of the hill.
Free time for lunch
Proceed to Bailen: visit and tasting at Pucualia OleoTurismo
Continuation to Cordoba in the afternoon
Check-in at hotel Tryp Cordoba for 3 nights.
The hotel is nicely located in the center of the city, a 15 minutes walk from the Mezquita.
Morning walking tour of Cordoba including a visit to the Mezquita.
9:00 AM Guide meets the group at the hotel. Guide services for 3 hours with focus on :
1. The architecture and the history of the Mezquita
2. The Jewish quarter and the history of the Asedic Jews in Cordoba (music, poetry, food and theology).
10:00 AM: Entrance to the Mezquita (whispers are compulsory)
Afternoon at Cordoba University for academic studies.

9:00 AM Departure after breakfast for a morning drive to Cadiz (165 miles)
Check-in at the Parador de Cadiz for 3 nights
2:00 PM Guide meets group at the hotel for a 3 hour tour.
Afternoon visit of Cadiz including view of the Plaza de San Juan de Dios, The Roman Theatre, the Cathedral, the market, Tavira Tower, San Sebastian Castle, la Caleta Beach and Santa Catalina Castle (no entrance fees).
8:00 AM: Leave Cadiz for Seville by coach after breakfast.
10:00 AM: Arrive Seville and meet guide for a half day sightseeing tour including a visit to the Alcazar. Orientation city tour by coach followed by walking tour.
12:00 PM Enter Giralda Tower and the Cathedral (whispers are compulsory).
Free time for lunch (not included).
2:30 PM visit Seville Museum of Fine arts.
Free time in the old town afterwards.
5:30 PM Coach leaves Seville to return to Cadiz.
Cadiz (B, D) Full day excursion to Gibraltar
9:00 AM departure by coach to Gibraltar (77 miles, 2 hour drive)
11:30 AM GIBRALTAR ROCK TOUR package starting and ending at the pier.
2:00 PM Round trip cable car from the Grand Parade in the center of the town, near the Botanical Gardens, to the top of the Rock.
Free time for lunch and shopping. Do not forget your passport and remember the local currency will be in Gibraltar pounds!
5:00 PM Return to Cadiz
Dinner at Cafe Royalty, on Plaza del Candelario, a 15 minutes walk from the Parador.
8:30 AM Coach leaves the Parador de Cadiz for a transfer to Seville airport to take your flight back to Miami, via Madrid.
10:30 AM arrival Seville airport check -in at Iberia counter

This Study Abroad to the South of Spain covers multiple cultural highlights in the cities of Granada, Cordoba, Seville, Cadiz and Gibraltar. In addition, students will have an opportunity to visit the University of Cordoba (UCO), founded in 1972, but originated in the 19th Century as “Universidad Libre” or Liberal University, currently comprised of two campuses and an educational center, with 21,000 students, over 1,200 faculty and 700 staff members. The University of Cordoba’s offerings include programs in the areas of Humanities, Social, Health Sciences, and Technology. Students will visit the campus located in the City of Cordoba, and will have an opportunity to interact with, discuss and ask questions from the University of Cordoba’s students and faculty.
2 nights Granada : HOTEL MELIA GRANADA
The Melia Granada is located in the heart of the city of Granada, near the cathedral, Calle Navas, Alcaiceria, the Puerta Real, Calle Elvira, Plaza Nueva, Realejo, Paseo de los Tristes, the Science Park and the Congress Centre. Its strategic location in the city centre, personalised service and excellent facilities make it the perfect choice for your visit to Granada. Near the hotel, you can visit exclusive boutiques and fashion houses. Plus nearby there is one of the city’s main leisure and entertainment areas with numerous tapas bars and restaurants. Meliá Granada is also just a short distance from the most trendy night spots and major shopping streets such as Reyes Católicos, Recogidas or Mesones.
3 nights Cordoba: HOTEL TRYP CORDOBA
This modern hotel is a 9-minute walk from Córdoba train station, 15 minutes’ walk from the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba and 2 km from Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos palace.
The contemporary rooms offer wood floors, free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, as well as minibars and desks. Upgraded rooms include balconies or terraces, and/or tea and coffee making facilities. Family rooms add bunk beds.

· For cancellation received before January 20, 2020, processing fee of $200 applies. The deposit is non refundable
· For cancellation received between January 20 and March 9, penalty is $500
· For cancellation received after March 9 and in case of no show, penalty is 100% of the trip value
