Arrival transfer can be arranged to travel between the airport and the hotel or you may prefer to use Uber. Check-in for 3 nights at the 4 star Wyndham Hotel In the heart of New Orleans in the French quarter.
Meet your tour escort who will assist you throughout the tour. Afternoon walking tour with local guide to see all the landmarks of the French Quarter. A visit to Degas House Museum is included ( Creole impressionist tour for 2 hours). Degas lived there in 1872 with his maternal relatives, the Musson Family. Painting classes are available if you wish to take one as you are staying in New Orleans (optional). Welcome dinner at a local restaurant with the opportunity to meet your travel companions.
Morning sightseeing of New Orleans using transportation day pass. With the help of your escort and the local guide you will ride busses and street car to go and visit the Garden District and the cemetery. Afternoon free time for painting or sketching in scenic spots
Depart after breakfast for a full day excursion to Vacherie where you will visit the OAK ALLEY PLANTATION a magnificent and imposing property of Greek revival architecture. Time to visit, have lunch on your own and find inspiration to paint or sketch views of the plantation, some beautiful scenery or historical costumes.
Departure after breakfast to go to Baton Rouge, 82 miles away from New Orleans. Your local guide will show you the Capital of Louisiana for a couple of hours before you continue to c where you will have a food tour and a fun experience of Cajun cuisine. Continue to spend the afternoon at the LARC Acadian Village which offers interesting sceneries for painting and intend to keep alive the old traditions and history of the old days. Check-in at your hotel in Lafayette for 2 nights.

Afternoon visit to Vermilionville just 3 miles away. The site is an historic and folklife park recreating the life of Acadians, Creoles and Americans who lived between 1765 and 1890. Costumed artisans, cooking school, dance lessons, boat tours are available and you will easily find a spot to sketch or paint for a while.
Leaving Lafayette in the morning you will return to the airport for your evening flight driving through the typical scenery of the Bayous. Ten miles outside Lafayette is the Tabasco factory and a short visit will precede a little hike in the Jungle Gardens with a short stop to sketch or photograph the splendors of nature. Then you will proceed to the Atchafalaya Swamp for a boat tour and some time to enjoy the view of ancient Mossy cypress trees and the alligators of the Atchafalaya Basin.
Return to New Orleans Louis Armstrong Airport (MCO) around 6:00 PM. Evening flight schedule depends on air schedule at the time of the trip
During the period of Covid 19 recovery, domestic travel is the best you can dream about.

● $225 Deposit to reserve your spot is fully refundable until March 1, 2021
● Balance $1400 to be paid in full by February 28, 2021
● All payments are fully refundable until February 28, 2021
● For cancellation after February 28, 2021 payments are transferable to another participant. A $150 transfer fee will apply. In case no replacement is possible cancellation penalty will be 100%
We highly recommend to protect yourself with a trip cancellation insurance. All changes and cancellations must be provided in writing.
